I am running for reelection for Assembly District 25 to keep fighting for a brighter Nevada for all of us. Families in my district are struggling to put food on the table and keep a roof over their heads while Donald Trump and Gov. Lombardo continue to put politics over people. Not on my watch.

Thanks to the reckless actions of Trump and his cronies in Congress, the government has shut down.

That’s why I supported AB 494, which will protect our kids from the radical Republicans in Washington. Even if Trump takes away all of the civil rights protections and student supports currently in federal law, this bill will ensure that those rights are retained in Nevada law.

He's got a point. Working families are desperate for lower costs and common sense solutions, not price hikes and confusing new billing schemes.

The right to speak our minds and to disagree with each other - to disturb, even - is at the very heart of what it means to be a free people. It is not to be denied. Not by violence, not by the abuse of governmental power, nor by acts of corporate cowardice.
As a Guild, we stand united in opposition to anyone who uses their power and influence to silence the voices of writers, or anyone who speaks in dissent. If free speech applied only to ideas we like, we needn't have bothered to write it into the Constitution. What we have signed on to - painful as it may be at times - is the freeing agreement to disagree.
Shame on those in government who forget this founding truth. As for our employers, our words have made you rich.
Silencing us impoverishes the whole world.

Joe Lombardo is more concerned about pleasing Trump than he is in protecting the people of Nevada. Instead of deploying the national guard to terrorize our people, our governor should be focused on ensuring our children feel safe going to school and our workers have the supports they need to thrive.
