Soothsayer. Sunny disposition. Loves politicians. Totally gets social media & woke people. Likes facts. Honest, despite being told I'm a "lying old politi-hack".
The Government's recent moves toward digital driver licences troubles me. Reeks of a citizen identity card by stealth. I recall the late-90s furore when then transport Min Maurice Williamson was forced to promise the new driver licence wouldn't be that.

Who could ever have imagined when I played a fictional rebel who joined the Resistance to oppose a criminal Authoritarian & wannabe King, it would be happening in real-life?

Stuart Nash's 2023 implosion aide memoire:
- Broke neutrality, leaned on Police Commissioner, prejudged murder trial
- Bent rules, lobbied MBIE for a mate, leaked Cabinet info to donors
- Biffed by Hipkins from Cabinet, he quit politics
- Bangin' on: conflicts over donor appointments, OIA violations

Facebook, Youtube and Twitter are murdering my reach lately. It ain't a hobby; I need views to justify my employment.
Please, BlueSky, watch & share my vids. It's such a pathetic request but my numbers are falling and my job is at stake - due to MegaCorp algorithms.

“Don’t you believe in equal rights?” (Delivered with a smirk). No, and neither do you David. Beyond universal human rights, rights become conditional on the situation. The two parties to a tenancy contract, say (or a treaty) have different rights arising from it. That’s the point (4/4)

This excellent piece sums up a great deal of what bugs me about the framing of "impartiality" in news media. Nevak Rogers takes leave to march with her whanau and it's news, but Soper and HDPA *use their actual media platform* to scorn the hikoi and that's different? thespinoff.co.nz/politics/19-...
Who gets to have an opinion on the hīkoi and who must remain ‘impartial’?
Newsrooms of old were apparently more impartial. But that’s only because everyone shared the same biases.

Luxon's invisible handicap: no imagination.

Agreeing to Rimmer's Treaty Principles Bill:
-- tactically smart because he got a coalition, but
-- strategically stupid because he couldn't imagine Maori being organised and dedicated enough to achieve what they did today. #nzpol

I doubt anyone feels any real emotion about Luxon.
No love
No hope
No optimism
No pessimism
No fear
No hate
Nothing. Not a single emotional hook upon which to hang finely crafted messages. Apart from job title, people have no personal reason to bother listening to him. Big political challenge #nzpol
