Just visited Monticello and was struck by the politicians of the day actually viewing their time in politics as “service” to the country. It was a sacrifice. Jefferson died with considerable debt partly because he spent so much time in service to his country.

Why does he keep calling ICE “law enforcement?” They enforce immigration law. They are like the mall cops of law enforcement, but heavily armed.

4th amendment: they detained Alex Pretti with no reasonable and articulated suspicion of him having committed any crime. And DHS agents are only authorized to detain for immigration offenses or for physically obstructing officers. Oh, and then they shot a disarmed man multiple times in the back.

2nd Amendment: “If you approach law enforcement with a gun, there is a high likelihood they will be legally justified in shooting you.” (US Attorney Bill Essayli on X). Even the NRA came out against that one saying it was “dangerous and wrong.”

Throwing out the 1st Amendment: blaming Walz and Frey for creating a dangerous situation by allowing mass protests in the first place. Also blaming Alex Pretti for obstructing and interfering when he was just there documenting and helping others.
