And more methodological contributions—As AI/ML generates variables from unstructured data, key econometric challenges arise when using these variables in downstream analysis: Are coefficients biased? Do standard errors remain valid? Critical questions for applied research.

We have seen more applications of LLMs— for example, conducting adaptive surveys, complementing official docs to enhance voter knowledge, personalizing news tones, and improving teacher selection.
