All he had to do was nothing. Sit back and ride the success of the Biden economy and then claim it for himself.

If this isn’t an admission of guilt, I’m not sure what is.

The CFPB is one of the American people’s best defenses against waste, fraud, and abuse.

Demolishing it will, of course, lead to more waste, fraud, and abuse.

Tech bros cheering on the cuts to grant funding built businesses and wealth on the back of decades of university R&D work. Much of that knowledge was given away to the public. This is basic pulling-up-the-ladder nonsense via rewriting history. They owe the public, not the other way around.

Attacking and banning media outlets is Chapter 1 in the Fascist Playbook and an assault on everyone’s First Amendment rights. #notnormal

Each of these foolish assaults on government programs ignores the tremendous return on investment they offer. USAID, CFPB, Dept of Ed, etc not only save lives and money but also promote safety and stability for all and for almost no cost in terms of fed budget. It’s just chaos and cruelty.

We really are living in Idiocracy. Does not seem like a far cry from these appointments to Gatorade on the crops. Need to rewatch to remember how Not Sure can save us.

Love this very much but what a world!
Hi everyone.

The Onion, with the help of the Sandy Hook families, has purchased InfoWars.

We are planning on making it a very funny, very stupid website.

We have retained the services of some Onion and Clickhole Hall of Famers to pull this off.

I can't wait to show you what we have cooked up.
The Onion Buys Alex Jones’s Infowars Out of Bankruptcy
The satirical news site planned to turn Infowars into a parody of itself, mocking “weird internet personalities” who peddle conspiracy theories and health supplements.

This election is so painfully mundane in poli sci terms:
-An incumbent party being defeated in the face of public economic discontent
-An authoritarian capitalizing on discontent to return to office, paying less of a price than we might hope at the ballot box because the public has other priorities

Vital that we refuse to normalize Trump's rhetoric and behavior, particularly for young people when this is all they know. Tell your students and don't "both sides" it.

Will continue to argue that core communication infrastructures like Twitter (and major news outlets) shouldn’t be left to the whims of billionaires and profit-driven corporations. www.thenation.com/article/soci...
We Can’t Let Billionaires Control Major Communications Platforms
Elon Musk may not be sitting on Twitter’s board, but he remains its largest shareholder—and that’s bad news.

What's your favorite post-election think piece? This is a good one from @cwarzel.bsky.social. Shows how the whole idea of a shared reality is probably dead. www.theatlantic.com/technology/a...
