The advantage, to my mind, being that you'd have gotten built in interoperability as the normal way the internet works. People would still have to optimize for algorithms, and various other issues, but you wouldn't have the issue where, if you quit a platform you lose business and friends.

That seems like kind of a painful way to go to me. Just playing it out in my head.

ATProto does need to get more user friendly. I haven't set up a WhiteWind blog so I'm not sure how technical it is to accomplish. I'm a big fan of self-hosting and owning your own data. Enshittification of every service owned by someone else is a real bummer.

Have you thought about using a blog platform on ATProto?

WhiteWind is the only one I know about, but other blog platforms can use their lexicon to pull your content in. Your content remains hosted in your own ATProto repo.
