“Content” might be the most damaging linguistic development this century. When art becomes a commodity, why can’t some slop bucket replicate it?

(I think people are going to learn hard lessons that it’s not a commodity, and even “low brow” stuff takes tremendous skill to execute well. But too late)

I think you can trace it further back to at least Enron, and probably even earlier. I’m not enough of a (or really any kind of a) market historian to know precisely when the tipping point was when the market stopped being reliably tied to company performance from a P&L standpoint but its been awhile

Is it more or less interesting if they FAIL in their attempts to optimize for data because there isn’t anyone in public with the flashlight they might need to find their own butts?
