As much as people like to make fun of certain people protesting as cringe, when it comes to normies vs. Trump, there's a lot of truth to Nicholson's famous line from A Few Good Men: "You want me on that wall, you *need* me on that wall."

Love the idea of a buddy system.

The cracks are already starting to show up, let’s give them a nice off-ramp where they can really grandstand about how “this has all gone too far”, and how they are now the moral center of the GOP. Let them have that! A big showy set of impeachment hearings should do the trick.

It’s like the difference between going to a sit down restaurant and relaxing and looking over the menu vs. fast food where it’s up on a screen and people behind you are waiting to order. We did have a sample ballot for people to look at, but it’s not the same.

we’re going to have longer wait times with everything being on a screen. You go into the booth with the machine & everyone has to wait until you come out. When we had the paper ballots, people would take them over to the table and spend a good amount of time looking over them before casting.

It made no sense because these machines were totally capable of printing out the right ballot based on your address, they were doing it all week for early voting. It was the Republican commissioner that insisted it had to be different on election day.

It’s no coincidence that they are trying to restrict mail-in voting as well.

this was our first year with new machines, we had early voting from anywhere, but then on election day it had to be at a specific spot. that was really confusing for voters. They kept coming and saying “but you’ve had signs up saying “vote here” all week long and my next door neighbor voted here”

100% this! They even say the quiet part out loud all the time now. It should make sense to anyone that the party trying to suppress the vote is probably not the party with ambitious plans to help working class families and lift up underserved communities.

I worked as an election inspector the last 2 years and I really encourage everyone to do it at least once. They rarely have enough people and it’s a great insight into how the voting process works, who is allowed to vote and who gets turned away for being at the wrong location or not registered

Beating a young transphobic swimming champion at a swimming competition despite being 80 years old with congestive heart failure…

OK, is there a bigger and better alternative?
