Fascinating walk along Penarth seashore on the lowest tide of the year. Amongst the usual beadlet anemones I found an unusual #seaanemone and would appreciate help with #identification. Could this be a red speckled anemone? @sewbrec.org.uk @thembauk.bsky.social #rockpooling #sealife

Thanks Annie! Richard at @cofnod.org.uk is in charge of the Spider Recording Scheme, we have had data from him but I'll try and work out with him why these other records haven't got to us / Aderyn either.

Excellent find! I believe this is a second for Wales, though for some reason @tylanberry.bsky.social's 2022 Neath record is not in our database. Do you have it in SRS @cofnod.org.uk?

This species is not actually a jellyfish, but a colony of small creatures called zooids.
Many thanks for record & pic, submitted via LERC Wales App.
