It’s a badge of honor to be seen as difficult amid patriarchy, fascism, & white supremacy. White women have been socialized to be seen as “good” in oppressive systems so we help uphold them.

That’s why it’s unnerving to the patriarchy when women become comfortable with being seen as “difficult”.

While the video from northern Idaho is undoubtedly disturbing, what I’m most concerned about is that there were clearly other people around who supported her and did not help her. Lock arms with her. Block the door. Documenting is not enough. Physical engagement in these situations is also required.

The plastic straws are a distraction.
The pennies are a distraction.
The Gulf of America is a distraction.
Altering websites is a distraction.
Removing certain words from research is a distraction.

They can try to knock us off balance by messing w perception, but it won’t work if we stay focused.

“I’m not pro-choice myself but support if someone else wants an abortion” … babe— that is the *literal* definition of pro-choice.

idea: cover everything in lube
I sincerely don’t know why people aren’t physically stopping those dorks. Move shit. Lock doors. Lose the keys. Everyone switch seats. Turn off all the lights. Switch the signs on the elevator lobby. Make the settings all silly. Use a different language. Wear costumes. Fill rooms with balloons

While ordering coffee today, a barista asked me to share my phone number out loud:

Me: No thank you, I’d rather not share that info aloud.
Stranger (white older man) behind me: Yeah, I could be a stalker.
Me: Yep, you never know.
*awkward silence*

Men— there is never a good time for this joke.

White folks, and especially Swifties: telling Beyoncé what country music is… is NOT the flex you think it is. The banjo originated from Africa. Black, enslaved musicians mentored many early country music stars. Country music would not exist if not for Black people and Black culture.

Aside from it being inherently racist, the people demanding “merit based job opportunities” are not thinking through that so many people “earned” their jobs through nepotism or money, and are not actually qualified for or good at their jobs.

52 years ago today, the U.S. Supreme Court in its Roe v. Wade decision declared a nationwide constitutional right to abortion. Today, our rights to reproductive health, abortion access, and bodily autonomy are more threatened than they have been in generations.
