I took these around Thanksgiving on my 25 year old film, 2 days before everything froze under snow and ice. It was a beautiful day. This is the Kirkbride former mental institution in Fergus Falls. I always stop and say hi to the ghosts.

I am still trying to get the hang of centering my Polaroids. Vincent is modeling for me today.

I put 25 year old film in a new Polaroid and am having fun.

I am sad so here is a very old doodle. This dinosaur was my RPG character in a superhero campaign. I decided the best superpower was being a dinosaur. Also she could turn invisible. The campaign before that I was a space lizard disguised as a large old woman in a mumu.

I have yet to present this idea to my anthropologist mom but it came to me when I was making my bed and I thought “each layer is like a talisman of something that brings me joy, protecting me while I sleep”.

I made honey garlic shrimp for myself. It turned out quite well, but I won’t be attempting again. A painful reality of chronic illness is needing to accept where to draw the line for things that you can’t quite handle doing. It took 3 hours for me to prep for a 10 minute prep recipe. I am exhausted.

Someone was festive

THIS IS MY FANTASTIC BIRTHDAY ROCK. It is a polished slice of 3.5-4 billion year old metaconglomerate. This means it started as mixed sediment deposits in a shallow sea. They were smashed into stone and then twisted, crushed, heated, and cooled to end up in the Narryer Gneiss terrane in Australia.
A 2 inch semi-square slice of pink-orange rock. It has the texture of a slice of homemade bread and contains visible transparent crystals.

Log cabin core

I was getting sleepy on the road so I stopped to see my large friend.
