I’ve decided I want headphones. I haven’t had a pair since my Beats got stolen.

So now I find that whenever I patronize a place, or get a service rendered, if they send me a survey—I ALWAYS fill it out. Because I wonder if they have a compliance entity that needs them to document feedback and I don’t want to be the reason they’re not in compliance lol

The school would always make the case that they can send surveys but they can’t make people fill them out. They can solicit feedback but they can’t force responses. I always felt bad citing them because it was a good point. But compliance is about paperwork & what you can prove with documentation.

It’s funny how you do things & don’t realize why until later.

I used to work in educational compliance. And when we did site (school)visits one of the most common citations was the school not getting feedback from interested parties (students, faculty, parents, advisory boards etc.)

And knowing what I know about my need to carry a sweater, when I see kids walking around completely covered in summer, hoodies in ninety degree weather, I wonder what they don’t want us to see. If they’re trying cover because they can’t shrink. If the hoodie is Linus’s blanket.

I’m a fat girl. As a larger body, there’s no way I can shrink. So I cover. I went from wanting to be prepared to soothing my own anxiety without realizing it. And it’s interesting how I made that leap. From warmth for my arms to security, the solution for when I’m not sure I want to be seen.
