If you're wondering what you can two, here are two action steps.

1. If your state is one of the 20, write your attorneys general and tell them what you think. Make sure they know if they're elected, their jobs are on the line. If they're appointed, emphasize that they don't represent your beliefs.

Something I'm especially worried about with this is that if it hits the 11th Circuit, whatever the decision is, this is the case SCOTUS would choose to hear after denying a hearing to Little vs. Llano County.

The government wants to tell half of this country's states what it is they can read and what it is they can think.

They *want* public institutions of democracy and civic engagement to be mouthpieces of government beliefs. That's all.

Please, for the love of god, GIVE A SHIT.

I know too many folks have written off Florida because they don't want to bother to understand two things: 1. Florida is the BLUEPRINT for book bans nationwide and 2. Florida is comprised of so many disenfranchised and gerrymandered voters–the only tools the GOP has to keep power.

The state also misquote their own law on page 22 of the brief, claiming that HB 1069 prohibits "sexually depictive content," which it does not.

The state didn’t attempt to disprove Judge Mendoza’s declaration that none of the 23 titles named were obscene. Instead, they used examples from books that were not a subject of the lower court’s review.
