Thinking Person's Guide to Autism. She/Her. Neutral Good. Earnest AF. Likes cephalopods. Targ herder. “A Vulcan should have a more resilient bladder.” So mamy typos.
We really needed these rains, and we also really needed this break between these rains, because when we can’t hike, we lose it just a little bit—and I am not necessarily talking about the guy in the picture.

New fren at Palo Alto Baylands, where we saw ALL THE SHOREBIRDS today. We also saw a backhoe and a blimp!

Please please please get your Covid shot if you can. You will be protecting yourself, and you will be protecting people who can’t get their shots because of absurd HHS policies.

#VaccinesWork, save lives, and protect autistic kids’ & adults’ health too.

Today’s bench is one of our favoritest faves. Plus we made friends with a raven. And it just “rained” so no one else is here. We are the most lucky people.

"I read a tweet once from someone asking my trans friends what they would do if the world was cis free for 24 hours & trans folks were safe to do anything without being subjected to transphobia.

"Most of them said 'go swimming.'

"Think about that."

Let it be known that in this year of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season III, and after a dozen trips to this very @montereybayaquarium.org exhibit, I finally got up the nerve to touch the giant isopod!

But I was still jitteringly nervous and that is why this pic is blurry.

Fox! We have a fox in our yard! This is really uncommon! It is so gorgeous! Alas it only has one tail.

My favorite part of being in San Miguel de Allende is spending evenings watching and listening to the Mariachis in the plaza. Hope you enjoy Mariachi Guanajuatense as much as I do.

Today, he fitses.

My new beetle buddy! I have never seen such cool coloration before, plus it was huge (at least 1 inch long). Pretty sure it is a Giant Mesquite Bug, and if so is considered tasty:

I fucking love mariachis so much. Not one whiff of irony. Mariachis rule.

A good time at the wedding was had by all. And that includes this proud little brother.

My grandpuppy is here! Alas, she will not be at the wedding.

It is gosling time in our area. SO FLUFFY.

Timeline cleanse! It's the annual goat hillside brush cleanup in our neighborhood. Note: Some of the goats are sheep.

I need help reacting to something.

If you like Thai basil and also go to restaurants that serve pho, please know that you can save a basil sprig and put it in water and within a couple of weeks it will sprout roots and you can plant it and have a whole new basil bush. I do this every spring because I am thrifty and it is fun.

At this point I resent RFK Jr. more than I resent Syracuse snow. And that is saying a LOT:

I may have mentioned this before, but Mori Point in Pacifica is where, in the movie Harold and Maude, Harold drives his car off a cliff (spoiler: he does not get hurt or die).

When anti-autism grievance parents are so focused on promoting the dangerous pseudoscience of an "autism epidemic" that—even though nominally pro-vax—they would rather eliminate high-support autistics like my son & their own kids than protect public health. Got it.

Liberated this dangerous PoS book from a Little Free Library and put it where it might do some good.

#VaccinesWork, have nothing to do with autism, and protect autistic kids too.
