Queen is not very quick laterally, so his defensive transition may be hampered by stuggles defending the better spaced, larger NBA courts

.. some his best moments blocking shots on defense are indeed closer to what i would see in a wing defender prospect as he's good protecting the basket from the weak side

Queen is an above average rebounder not just on defense, but on the offensive glass as well. As an off rebounder, he’s not someone in the mold of Mitchell Robinson, ala a player who gets offensive rebounds by using his physicality to outmuscle opponents on the glass....

Queen has a high center of gravity and while driving has a tendency to show a bit too much of the ball which makes him succeptible to having the ball swiped out of his hands. Also, as good as his handle and footwork are, he doesn’t necessarily have the strongest grip on the ball going to the basket

his rebounding and handle combo unlocks an awesome, rare + trait for a big - Queen can really bring the ball up the floor, i just love how calm, composed and controlled Queen is in those situations.

he has such a fantastic sense of how the play is going to develop. On this clip, A&M clear out the side for a slip, but CMB quickly senses the danger and slides to protect the rim, instead of going with his man who was on a dummy run to the corner, designed to take CMB's rim protection away

for his height, CMB is an awesome shotblocker. He's rumoured to have a 7ft+ wingspan. Murray-Boyles is not the greatest vertical leaper, but at the same time i don't think he gets enough credit for that particular aspect of his game

i wanted to emphasize this particular play because it gets more and more ridiculous the more you watch it. Look at Murray-Boyles' hands, they suck up the ball like a vacuum cleaner on that loose ball situation

Murray-Boyles is a wrecking ball on defense. He has next-level awareness, is a very engaged defender with fantastic defensive footwork and magnetic hands that he uses to just rip balls from his opponents. He finished the season with a 2.9% STL rate, which is very good for a mostly interior defender

i think his screening/short roll passing ability is one of the ways how you can mitigate spacing concerns
despite him not having a 3 pt shot, CMB is a high gravity player in other areas of the game. Using him as a roll man can bring two defenders to the ball and make the defense gravitate to one...

since New Year, CMB has added another layer to his offensive game, which is ability to take playes off the dribble in iso situations
this was especially true on the January 11th game against Auburn where Johni Broome felt the true extent of CMB's off-the-dribble game improvement....

despite his shootinng woes, CMB has multiple ways to be effective, including scoring from the post. At just 6-7, CMB plays bigger than that due to his naturally big frame, strenght and footwork. He's a crafty finisher around the rim, carving out angles going to his left hand
