I assume you're already well aware of this, but you can hypnotize chickens by rhythmically stroking the tops or sides of their heads. As they go under, their eyelids close from the bottom up.
Very useful, particularly when you're working at a petting zoo and kids want to pet the chickens.

All our cats do, even though the boys are no longer kittens, and L-cat is definitely in Old Lady Cat territory.
