Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive.

No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief.

1/ A 🧵 to explain his plan and how we fight back.

FOTUS and Vice FOTUS goaded Zelensky into a confrontation that would please Putin and that they could spin to their supporters as a reason for siding with Russia. It’s Reality TV production. You set up cameras. Everyone plays their part. Someone gets painted the villian. Voila.

Kremlin is cheering.

Dems would get much more traction finding and promoting people saying what they know and experience.

What has more impact, This man speaking his mind or the Dems speaking “in unison “ ?
You guys need to see this and take it in…

Wise words from someone who is a target. And he’s been listening.

Tiktok wasn’t even gone 24 hours. I definitely thought they’d play up the drama at least until he was sworn in.

Nelly said “It’s not about the money”

Bruh. That actually makes it worse.

MAGA is the most persuasive propaganda and disinformation campaign of our lifetimes. It is both impressive and frightening. People look to one man and one man only to tell them what is true.

My one wish for the inauguration is that there is a gift bag under the seats of Bezos, Zuck, Elon etc, with a single, embroidered , padded knee pad

Need to protect themselves when they are on bended knee, kissing the ring 🤷😆

I understand why a billionaire would buy control of the government for their own personal gain. I understand why a person seeking to maintain power would only hire people who pledge fealty.

I don't understand why non-billionaires support them in doing so.

Telling someone to “do their own research” is unhelpful when they have no media literacy skills.

A person with a home worth a couple million dollars is not in the same conversation as a billionaire. These are overwhelmingly people who still work for a living. They don't have millions in the bank. All they have is the house.

Once you have a billion dollars, we should say congrats you won capitalism. Here's a trophy. But you can't hoard anymore. There is no reason you need any more money.

One thing I’ve learned from being largely remote and occasionally hybrid the past 12 years: Commuting back and forth to an office is an absolute productivity killer.

Trump inauguration on MLK Day very much gives “But I have Black friends”.

Peak American tokenism. Something MLK despised. The juxtaposition would be ironic were it not so very grotesque.
