I was told that mixing Sriracha and mayo to spread on sandwiches is delicious.
I tried it, and it was delicious!
I heard that using grilled dry-aged cured bacon instead of ham is also delicious, so I can't wait to try it!

Tokyo had its first snowfall today, right when I was out on the expressway. Luckily, it didn't accumulate, though my kids were quite let down.

Happy New Year again!
I ate Osechi, which is traditional Japanese New Year food.
Each ingredient in Osechi carries a special wish for the family's happiness.

Happy New Year! We rang in the New Year in our car. We pulled over at a highway rest area and watched a New Year's TV special in the car.
I hope this year is amazing for you!

I am at Joetsu Kokusai Ski Resort in Minamiuonuma, Niigata. Even though this is known as a heavy snowfall area, there’s very little snow right now, and the ground is showing. The skiing conditions are terrible.

In Japan, it is a custom to have fancier meals than usual during the year-end and New Year holidays.

We had "kani nabe" .

It is a Japanese dish made with crab and vegetables simmered in a traditional Japanese broth.

Over this meal, I was hoping for the economy to pick up in the coming year.

Just a few more hours of work, and I am done for the year! My winter break starts tomorrow! 😁

In Japan, it’s a tradition to eat roast chicken and cake on Christmas.

This weekend was my cheat day. I bought 1 kg of skirt steak and enjoyed it with my family. I even let the kids stay up late that night. We have days like this once in a while.

For dinner, we had ginger pork. There was also lotus root kinpira.

I checked Google Photos to see what I was doing in the winter when I was 34 years old, A photo of me holding wild boar meat came out. Maybe I was just too excited because it was my first time eating wild boar 😅

The cold is deepening in Tokyo, and hot drinks like miso soup have started appearing in vending machines.

On the balcony, I harvested vegetables to eat in salads, as well as bell peppers and shishito peppers, which were the last ones I harvested.

It was the coldest day of the season in Tokyo, so I put on my coat and went out.

My son and I went to Saizeriya. It was my first time to try squid ink pasta. My son was surprised by the black color of the food.

I used the Aqua-Line, a road that crosses Tokyo Bay. I'm sharing the view from Umihotaru, the rest area located in the middle of this road. It's surrounded by the ocean, but since it was night, it was pitch black.

Melon Pan. New soda flavor.
It's so delicious that dieting becomes pointless 😅

I went to Chiba Port Tower.
It's not as good as Tokyo Tower or Skytree, but it wasn't bad.
By the way, it is 113m high.

The trees are starting to look like winter.

It's a three-day weekend here in Japan. I'm currently in Chiba, right next to Tokyo, for a drive. I plan to enjoy the views of Tokyo Bay from the Chiba side.

The wine I usually drink is Carlo Rossi from the United States.
At my local supermarket, it costs 550 yen for 720ml. It's a reasonable and delicious wine.

Beaujolais Nouveau has been released, so I went out to drink some right away.

It looks like we're finally ready to harvest the radish. It took a while, probably because it's the wrong time of year.
November 20, 2025 at 11:32 PM
The fever is finally gone, and I can eat my normal breakfast again.
November 17, 2025 at 12:48 AM
I didn't have much of an appetite, so I had yudofu (boiled tofu) for dinner. My fever still hasn't gone down, so I'll be staying in bed tomorrow too.
