Yes I am in a better situation after asking for help (its so hard!). Currently drinking Stash and Equal Exchange Double Bergamot Lady Grey. But very flighty and changeable. I like Peppermint, Chai, Decaf Green, Chamomile. Twig teas are nice as is a nice roasted oolong.

Isera is woven into the gaps where her other siblings: Hexæl, Velæth, Sura, Kora, Rua & Sef aren’t. If Lykæon is the wild mother & the others are ways of meeting a broken world, then Isera is what makes it possible to be in the world at all. She exists among the others—not as absence, but as care.

We’re not out of needing half masks though! The jaw pressure of a full mask interfering with embouché of traditional flutes, woodwinds & shakuhachi needs to be solved. In rehearsals open frame is easier to mic-up. Costuming requires intentionality at the onset.

It doesn’t make one better or more genuinely expressed than the other. But collapsing them into the same idea flattens both & usually erases the creatures for whom therianthropy isn’t play, aesthetic or hobby—but a form of survival & why I’m trying to make therian specific space in our communities.

It isn’t a fursona nor temporary. It shows up in my body, my nervous system, my ethics, my need for pack, territory, touch, & care that is animal, beastlyl, creaturely. It affects how I perceive the world as it’s lived, not costumed. Masks or tails are prosthesis to help with my grinding dysmorphia.

For me, furry is akin to drag: something folk get to try on. They’re playful, performative, expansive. We get to exaggerate, remix, explore. That doesn’t make them fake—because drag isn’t fake—but it is a different mode. Furry is something we can take off, Therianthropy is constant, gnawing, primal.
