#ActuallyAutistic. Hobbyist composer with sensory hypersensitivity who sometimes writes accordingly and sometimes feels too anxious to write the sounds that don't set this off. He/him

I have been known to refer to the weighted blanket / regular blankets / stuffed animal combo I'm under right now as the Giles Corey Snug Vortex

I've had a few "interesting combinations of established words" in my time. A friend recently laughed at (and shared to apparent appreciation) one that I coined for the weighted blanket/regular blankets plural/duvet/stuffed animals combination I sent this under: "Giles Corey Snug Vortex"

You can't put a good tune down, and "Faith of the Heart" is - not for the first or last time in something from the pen of Diane Warren - a good tune drenched in syrup.

No surprise that an absurd recontextualisation that yeets the syrup and keeps the tune is effective!

This sounds like a very cool outcome for a very cool project 💖

Unbelievably superior to the squicky source material that's for sure

And *still* the reactionaries are universally blaming it on the coaching/philosophy.

This would maybe hold more water if the decisive innings had come at a Boycottian strike rate of 15. But it came at 150...

It was all execution. Always has been, always will be, in any meta.

That's awesome. When I came out as ace to my mum, she was like "I didn't know it was a thing with a name but yeah not shocked" (honestly it took long enough for me to know that in the pre-ace-flag 2000s!) and I'm reminded of that 😂

The only creative aster*sk use I've done is to refer to the hottest season as s*mm*r when talking to my fellow heat-sensitive friends (most of them also autistic - temperature sensitivity seems to be another Sensory Issue that isn't discussed much outside autistic community!)

A batshit opening day in more ways than one.

And that's another thing - someone may have a gender presentation that isn't aligned with their own gender for other reasons! From cis women losing their hair from chemotherapy to autistic people of any gender whose presentation is "whatever isn't sensory hell"...

And whose voices then get very gendered sexualised objectification...

(Which always threw me so much when I, autistic and ace-spectrum, am drawn to them for the same sensory sensitivity reasons I'm sex-averse!)

Also, first Korean on the ballot! A symbolic moment to remind us all that even "get on the ballot and sink without trace" is the product of a very good career indeed.

CS1 might have another decade of active modder support at this point

Is that an unusually strong seasonal variation by global standards? It makes sense that Sweden would have clear winter peaks/summer troughs in mortality with their climate...

Wemby's Spurs may end up at least in the "Cavs in LeBron's return" role in that comparison (except, of course, not in the Leastern Conference), but my very uneducated guess is that they're at the head of the "ready when the second apron breaks up this Thunder core" queue.

…which admittedly is very much driven by my autistic sensory issues! (One of them is "no percussion" and has part of "Music for Airports" alongside Coldplay, Christina Perri, and assorted icy Nordic acts. Another, "singalong," has "Disco Inferno," "I Won't Back Down," and assorted 90s bangers)

This is a low-key defining characteristic of the digital era - being able to easily create playlists from anywhere and everywhere in a way the physical media age simply didn't facilitate.

Many of my playlists gleefully hop across eras and styles in the name of serving a specific auditory purpose…

One of these albums has one big hit that transcends context and is otherwise just doing a decent job

The other has "Love Shack"
