Kids: say they want to go back to school now

Mom: I'm weeping, angry, grieving. I'm so emotional I can't even talk to my kids. Should I send them to school?

Comments: they made their choice. They told you too late, so homeschool them for a year as a "natural consequence." Take the year off.

Justifying unlimited screen time and excessive video game playing is a pattern I've noticed in all these groups. It's ... weird.

From a "10 Things I would Tell a Brand New Homeschool Mom if I had no filter" Instagram post.

This mocks the entire concept of developmentally appropriate milestones and achievement standards.

With this attitude, they are *guaranteed* to fall behind.

Parent: I need advice! I can't teach my child the alphabet!

Top rated comment: stop trying and just let her watch TV

Her son is two years behind, but she wants to do "minimal prep"-- oh but she'll oh-so-nobly and sacrificially "take the time to go over lessons."

She's only used things designed to *supplement actual teaching*. No wonder they're years behind.

Parent: my kids noticed they've been educationally neglected and unprepared for adulthood

Comments: teens are just resentful, ungrateful brats and you did nothing wrong

The comments were unanimous: yes, this is a completely reasonable thing to do! We all did it, it worked out great!

Narrator: It did not, in fact, work out great.

If you can't stay at HOME with your kid then you can't HOME SCHOOL.

One of my favorite genres of #ShitHomeschoolingParentsSay: turning everyday activities that parents with kids in public school *also do* into over-inflated, grandiose delusions.

Homeschooling Today is one of the most significant resources in homeschool culture.

There's not knowing everything, and there's not knowing *what you're supposed to be teaching.*

Stop the spin ride, I'm dizzy

A note on homeschool illiteracy: when homeschool parents say their child "can't read" they don't mean "they're not at grade level." They really do mean *can't. read.*

Why don't I believe you, Haley?

(oh by the way Florida gives homeschool parents in certain programs over $7k in completely unaccountable money... it's been proven some of them use that money for Disney and there was nothing illegal about it 😅)
