Just a very normal guy
The first step is not being annoying about it. Too many people approach it like liberals approach politics, where you assume you have some kind of moral authority over people.

Turns out people hate that shit and for good reason. Just be a normal person and you’ll get very far

Any movement that wastes time trying to trick people into communism will be weak. It will be conspiratorial from the start and will fall apart quickly. It is so annoying to have to even argue about this. It needs to be the peoples will and it can’t be a trick.

Fuck it, putting this in my bashrc

Don’t get it twisted. For every Noem or MTG they have, the Dems have a Cori Bush. No one seems to have a monopoly on competence within Washington

I should’ve added India’s BJP to the list as well. America’s not unique nor are we soaking up all the fascism in the world (whatever fascism even means in this case). Many countries are seeing this political shift right now.

What do you mean? Do you have any idea what’s going on in Europe right now? They’re soaking some of it up themselves too. Keir Starmer’s rhetoric recently, AfD’s popularity in Germany, hell, Italy’s own PM??? Dawg, what is this take

The online left is really good at consuming Hasan drama and really bad at having opinions anyone cares about. It’s honestly getting to be really embarrassing.

Communists really need political allies who go outside and do stuff instead of consume and complain

This is amazing!

That would by proxy eliminate the proletariat too ;)

Had no idea you wrote or that you thought Chumbawumba was the greatest band of all time, both very based takes

Sorry, I should’ve elaborated that I am also actually politically active too. I’m not gonna get elitist about what counts as political activism, there are lots of ways to be politically active, but shitposting online certainly doesn’t count. Go outside please

I’m a literal fucking communist you dumbass

That is profoundly pointless. It’s made me hate the online left. It’s made me realize that ‘the left’ in real life is just as dumb and infantile as those we deem our enemies. Everything has become pointless hostility and posturing.

Wtf happened?

This. And you know what else is missing? Genuine engagement with the real world. The revolutionaries of old wrote about politics in the context you know…actually doing it. You can’t possibly have knowledge of the real world if you refuse to engage with it. The end result is political theory

This is very selective and you know it. The left has been the dominant cultural force for the last few decades (I’ll leave it to you to define few).

The hyper fixation on culture got us nowhere and it’s probably time to course correct. Of course, this only matters if your goal is to actually win

I should add that French socialism was merely a stepping stone to something actually useful and lots of weird online leftism just gets stuck there. What no material analysis does to a mf

Proudhon was the OG terminally-online anarchist.

Reality? That’s not important! I have moral opinions that are superior by virtue of me saying they are!

The pointless hostility seems to be worming its way into the real world too. I’m kinda done with that shit, and don’t let it slide in my friend groups anymore but it feels like a constant effort.

How did we get here

in part an Internet thing. Like very few offline social spaces select for pointless hostility and disagreeableness as branding as well as micro blogging sites do online
