Kites, bikes and woodworking with a bit of photography thrown in on the side.
Taking a few moments to look up from your phone is often rewarded by seeing where you are going.

It’s kite festival time again. This time, we’re on the beach at Notre Dame de Monts near Nantes. This is a close up of a kite designed by the English kite maker, Carl Robertshaw.

Well, I had no trouble finding that puncture! Strangely, I didn’t have a patch big enough to fix it!

Must have been an old tube and expanded too much in the heat. Never seen that before though.

Has a great time in Narbonne at the weekend. Boy, the French sure do live a beach kite festival.

Glad to get this one finished. It’s a gift for a work colleague. Made from wood recovered from an old bench in the school playground. Who knows what the stuff is! This one fought all the way.🤪

Decided to cycle to the garage to collect my car yesterday. What a view! Cycling gives you the chance to see things you miss everyday in a car. How easy it is to just stop and take a moment.

Latest woodworking session - an egg stand for a friend at work. Beech and reclaimed Meranti (probably). A fun little project with minimal joinery.

St Mary’s Lighthouse- Whitely Bay. I lived there juxtaposition of the two jets flying in opposite directions and the old, stone buildings.

A little tray for a friend at work. Can’t lie, it’s not been fun in the shed the last few days. I’m off to stand in front of the open fridge door to warm up!

I’m lucky to be able to shoot backstage sometimes. You get great stories and another perspective.

This was a tech rehearsal for Follies in a regional theatre. Shot on an iPhone.

We had a little snow last night but not a lot. So, instead of snow pictures, here’s a shot of a deer in my garden from the summer!
