Love this. My favourite piece of furniture I own is a coffee table my dad made me out of a bigger table I played on as a kid. It’s solid oak. It’s beautiful and strong; all my friends could stand on it at once and I’m sure it wouldn’t break. Best of all though, my dad made it. Talk about weight.

An ad agency once cold-emailed me saying they liked the photos of “shrimp dishes” on my website, and that they specialize in marketing restaurants. We’re a publisher. We sell books. There are no shrimp fishes on our website. Try again?

I'll be there! Looking forward to your talk!

Heck yeah! Mine is going to have the same things done once its battery gets bad enough. Opening them is, I hear, a little tricky. I love that these decades-old devices are still alive and kicking though.

I never know how to respond to people who say they don’t read. What could we possibly have to talk about?

You can buy replacement batteries for these! I use mine all the time. It’s a delight. So simple, no logging in, no notifications: a single purpose device that does what it’s supposed to and does it well.

Shrimp Cult will go back to being about joy in a day or two, but I just can’t post funny comics without first acknowledging the terrible crime that has been committed, and the unrest it's creating. To the brave protesters and politicians speaking out: stay strong. We need you.

Without evidence or investigation, they made up their minds to project a story that agreed with the party line. This woman’s murder was a tragedy. What frightens me now is the rift that seems to be deepening in the US.

We have fans, authors, and artists who live in the US. I have friends and family there. Two days ago, an ICE agent shot and killed a woman fleeing a protest. The Trump government labelled this mother a terrorist before her body had been removed from her car.

Incredible. This was a *fast* painting!!

AI evangelists have misunderstood what makes art meaningful. It isn’t just pretty images or “content,” it’s the knowledge that a human being imbued an image or story with a message, painstakingly and with intention. I’m glad to see the backlash against a sanitized, monetized online world.

I’ve been working my way through “Sleep Over” by H. G. Bells. It’s a collection of fictional first-person autobiographical short stories documenting a time when no one in the world can sleep. It’s great, and it’s the only horror I can read before bed that makes me want to sleep.
