++black deck is for sure a struggle, especially at later stakes--and that's exactly why a lot of people end up leaving it as the last deck lol. me included. don't worry everyone feels the same about it for the most part! it's brutal in the early game 😂

watching other people play to get the grove. highly recommend balatro university and roffle heavy on youtube if you're ambitious!! but don't feel like you HAVE to be--play how you want and at the pace you enjoy. that's what matters.

also blue seals are broken AF (and i hope they never change lol)

you'll get the hang of it!! learning balatro is easy, but the actual mastery curve is steep. don't feel discouraged at not being able to consistently win--most people can't. it takes a LOT of play and active practice and --

my first suggestion is to keep chip jokers in mind & grab them when you can! they're underappreciated but REALLY helpful for smaller hands (high/pair) & hands you have to waste hands/discards to dig for (3/4/5oak, straights). esp when you're just trying to survive and get the build off the ground.

pants are my GOAT it's such a good joker. you're honestly starting better than a majority of new players i see just by appreciating actually good jokers lol (they're all obsessed with naneinf, photo, hanging chad, baron, perkeo, etc)

yeah LOL high card & pairs are really big in higher stakes. they're just more consistent!

doesn't mean you should disregard other hands tho! it's always best to go with what's working in the current run and with the jokers you get

i've done plenty of every hand type, except straight flushes lol
