Last time I used this was 8 months ago but now that The Other Place has become effectively unusable I think I’m here to stay!

I’m Siân, a Cornish and Welsh storyteller and folklorist who runs the Celtic Myths and Legends podcast & works in a museum.

Joy is so important. Don’t mistake some people’s joy for ignorance. I cry & feel anxious & angry with huge world issues like human rights violations, the climate emergency etc. BUT - sometimes you need to feel joyous to widen your capacity to tackle the Big Bad Things in life.

Dusk flew in like a Corvid Prince from the old children’s stories. Black of wing and bright of eye. His wings were, of course, the slowly encroaching night. His eyes were the moon and stars who looked down upon the darkening marsh with a cold, regal indifference.

What the cunning folk of Hookland do on #NewYearsEve - year-walking. May your troubles not cross the threshold of midnight. May blessings walk down the lane to meet you in the coming year.

Hi guys just a reminder that I made a short audio piece lovingly parodying community radio set in a world where Cornish mythic creatures are real & THEY are also pissed off about gentrification, xenophobic stereotypes & the struggles of day to day life!

A little snowy break for Bailey’s walk today! 🥰 Cornwall rarely gets the snow but it’s always beautiful to see a little bit of it!

If there is one single thing that the government should do it's this. There isn't a single human being in the UK who needs more than one house to live in. Second homes in areas like Devon and Cornwall are completely immoral as are Air B&Bs.
Tax wealth. It's only fair.

Plan to double council tax on second homes laid before parliament
Local authorities will be able to charge up to twice as much under proposals laid before MSPs.

I wonder if we leave a mark on the landscape in the same way it can leave a mark on us. At my worst health wise, but still determined to walk, I’d rely on Goss Moor’s flat paths to bring me healing. Definitely a bit of Goss Moor lodged in my soul now, but is there a bit of me on the moor?

This is the time of year when the primal urge to roam the coastal line of #Cornwall, dressed as a melancholy ghost searching for her lost lover at sea, reaches its ultimate peak. Or the compulsion to retreat into deepest darkest Kernow in search of the piskies almost overrides logical thought.
