Don't worry! You can get your COVID-19 vaccine! (At least in NC) CVS.com makes this easy.
No warning about barriers or ineligibility. No RFKjr nonsense.
If you're under 65 they ask: Are you eligible and do you want it? Say Yes. That's good enough for CVS. You can now schedule your shot.

The Greensboro Four including Maj. Gen. Joseph McNeil, left, returned to Woolworth’s for coffee in 1990, on the 30th anniversary of their nation-changing sit-in.
With McNeil’s passing this week, only Dr. Jibreel Khazan (born Ezell Blair Jr.), second from left, survives.

By one reckoning, two vital, HBCU-based public radio stations in North Carolina are in mortal jeopardy: WNCU in Durham (Triangle jazz source) & WRVS in Elizabeth City.
Let's see some reporting on how the Triangle & NC will suffer from the cancellation of all federal funding for public radio and TV.

This message would’ve been unremarkable in 2024. But with US corporations, pols & govts now recanting or erasing their affirmations about racial equality, I’m encouraged to see the NC Dept of Transportation renew its commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (using the words!).
Happy Juneteenth!

Lots of priorities to choose from in this Democratic Governors Assn survey/money plea.
I choose Other: “restoring democracy & rule of law.”

The Rev. Dr. #PauliMurray was a great American hero. Trump fears her legacy as an obstacle to white-male supremacy.
We should erect Murray's statue at UNC where she was denied admission because of her race, near the Chapel Hill church where she was ordained.

I just came across this timely tip for taxpayers, from the #IRS:
Do not write a check for $100 million or more. Instead, break your tax payment into multiple checks for less than $100M apiece, or consider another means of payment.

My son & I thought of each other.
I sent this white Gulf of Mexico 1569* T-shirt to Laughlin, who (at least for a few more weeks) works as a marine biologist concerned with the Gulf.
Meanwhile, before he received it, Laughlin bought this purple 1550* version for me.

"There was nothing there now except a single Commandment. It ran:
ALL ANIMALS ARE EQUAL
BUT SOME ANIMALS ARE MORE EQUAL THAN OTHERS
After that it did not seem strange when next day the pigs who were supervising the work of the farm all carried whips in their trotters."

'Are you certain that this is not something that you have dreamed, comrades? Have you any record of such a resolution? Is it written down anywhere?'
And since ... nothing of the kind existed in writing, the animals were satisfied that they had been mistaken.

Four American heroes got together again on February 1, 1990, for coffee at Woolworth's. It was the 30th anniversary of the Greensboro sit-ins.
From left: Joseph McNeil, Ezell Blair Jr. (Jibreel Khazan), Franklin E. McCain, David L. Richmond.
We appreciate these men & celebrate #BlackHistoryMonth.
