Absolutely. We've known for decades that the Scandis are the happiest, healthyist, best educated nations (and more) yet we make no moves in that direction...we don't even discuss progressive thinking or envision it.
We severely handicap ourselves at the behest of capitalism and duopoly interests.
For years I've been banging on about why we in Australia should follow Scandinavian influence rather than the stupid Americans, maybe now is the time?

If you’re drawn to a politician because they promise to be cruel to Muslims or Jews or immigrants or gays or transgender people etc, the least you should do - the absolute, bare bones, still morally vacuous least - is ask yourself whether they’re likely to stop at the group you want to see targeted.

Peter Dutton’s line that having a strong public sector is about “pleasing the unions” is just wrong. It is about providing decent services to Australians, something he clearly doesn’t care about. He wants to return to mass outsourcing to their favourite consultants #insiders

"Donald Trump's administration is lying to you."

Gov. J.B. Pritzker slammed the White House for saying the freeze wouldn’t affect Head Start and Medicaid.

This is how we do it. Call out Trump’s lies to the camera, bold, strong action. Hold him accountable, every single time.

It should go without saying that this is appalling public policy. Of all the things small businesses can spend money on, business lunches are the least likely to improve productivity or business viability.

The head of the NACC, retired judge Paul Brereton, is incapable of leading a public service organisation of over 260 people with a very forward facing and very public role

He appears either unwilling or unable to accept that he does not have the skill set required for such a vast undertaking

#NACC
I wish I was making this up, but the boss of the National Anti-Corruption Commission has given a speech where he admits that he acted with "apprehended bias" during the Robodebt non-investigation. As Bernard Keane and many others argue, Brereton has to resign www.crikey.com.au/2024/11/18/p...
Discredited Brereton should stop whingeing and resign from the NACC
The National Anti-Corruption Commission head devoted a major speech to explaining why he shouldn't resign. It perfectly demonstrated why he should.
