Damn, good call. You're a lot closer than you think on the AI thing. Think of LLMs as one giant relational database, the more words are used together the stronger the relational bonds between those words and the higher likelihood the LLM will decide to use them. Basically contextual reading/writing.

Holy crap. This strategy of teaching reading sounds like it was invented by somebody who "just likes the pictures."

I wish I knew how I was taught to read but childhood trauma's erased basically all my memories from before I was like 10.

I think it's got a lot, and I mean a LOT to do with AI destroying critical thought, and social media destroying attention spans. Not trying to downplay covid here, the cognitive effects are very real and serious, but covid definitely doesn't effect *everyone* like that.

While I’m glad Commissioner Tisch let Ricky Patel (Special Agent in Charge at HSI) know that she’s not happy with their raids, I’m disturbed by footage of NYPD officers clearing the way for ICE vehicles. It’s a violation of our sanctuary city law to facilitate deportations.
