I'm turning in the level 30 gladiator quest (the final quest! the end of the gladiator storyline, after which I will become a paladin!) and one of the characters asks me "have you ever considered the coliseum?" MOTHERFUCKER I MOST CERTAINLY HAVE. THAT'S WHY I SIGNED UP FOR THE GLADIATOR'S GUILD LMAO

the main antagonist of these quests is some guy who hates some other guy because there was a match-fixing scandal at the coliseum. the one I don't get to fight in, as a gladiator. so they definitely know what a gladiator is. but for me, the player, I guess a gladiator is a sword-and-shield-cop

I've heard a lot of hate for the paladin quests in FF14 (haven't gotten to them yet) but I don't think people insult the gladiator quests enough. it's a bunch of people I don't know fighting about something that happened 7 years ago that they won't tell me about. I just want to fight in the coliseum
