New house, new thermostat, no grandfathering in to the old app. Hence, the experience is now completely unusable. I can’t add the thermostat to erase its boneheaded “smart” schedule without buying another google device.

I’m genuinely giddy about the idea of soon being 100% google-free though!

Probably via IRCA (“the Reagan amnesty”) in 1986? I used to know a bunch of old Irish guys in SF who’d overstayed tourist visas in the 70s, been “illegal” for 10-15 years, and then got settled with green cards in the late 80s.

Just… guh… why is “no ceiling” assumed to be a good thing?! Ceilings on wealth are the only way we’re going to begin fixing this mess (pick a mess, any mess).

If there’s any justice in the world*, that “This Year” design on a t-shirt should be able to make everyone involved moderately rich, at least. I’d buy multiple!
