Great article. The last part really struck home, especially on a day when the UK government finally approved the Chinese mega-embassy in London. What other choices are there, at least for the time being while UK/EU adjusts (i.e. gets the knife out of its back).

This recent Brazilian study found remarkably consistent effects of APOE status on post-mortem brain samples between black and white people. Useful because it avoids a lot of the ethnicity-related biases in access to diagnosis and stigma.

Other ethnicities differ significantly in APOE4 prevalence but there's little data to say much about how it relates to risk.
Communicating dementia risk is also complicated by the fact that relative risks vary by age. I found this nice figure a while ago but can't pin down the original data source:

Quick Q for anyone who's ever done a spinal tap. Is CSF clear and colourless, or is it 'straw-coloured' (i.e. pale yellow)?
I'm reviewing some technical content that describes it as the latter and stock images also seem to do so too. However, clinical texts describe it as clear and colourless?

Absolutely. If anything women are slightly more likely to be lonely, but otherwise it seems very even.

Interesting recent data on loneliness.
