Really not having a good day and being "jumped" on this seemingly kind place makes me just want to retreat back into hermit mode again.

I've stayed up for so long pre-setting posts on the blog the post for "tomorrow" is already up. So if you'd care to listen to music for cello and piano by August Nölck head over to AOAD. I'm going to call it a night. 🎵 anopusaday.wordpress.com/2025/09/06/a...

Please have a listen if you haven't already, and hopefully some of you will join me in the full-throated obsession with Florence Price's Fantasie nègre No. 1 which, if I had my way, would be as overplayed as Chopin's First Ballade in music schools

Listened to @cellocorb.bsky.social's brilliant "Unspeakable Beauty: Works by Historical Women Composers Arranged for Unaccompanied Cello" on Bandcamp yesterday. Highly recommend it. Again I have that sinking feeling that leads to the givvyuppy state. Nothing I've tried, clearing out, reading, writing, resting and letting be, has stopped the sinking so far. I know there are a few leaks I can't really plug but I think I need to find sth that lifts or at least keeps me afloat.

This morning I was reminded of how wonderful it can be to read something that really is a joy to read while you are reading it, to the point of not wanting it to end and not wanting it to last forever but just reading it thoroughly in the here and now. #booksky
