artists: please learn to draw fat bodies.

many of you don’t have any idea how to draw where fat goes on a human body. you’ve probably never learned.

if fat folks aren’t your “aesthetic” consider why that is.

what are you saying about how you feel about fat people? what are your values?

we are not some “specialty class” of people that artists should take an elective if they wanna learn. there are tons of us out here in the real world and we deserve to be drawn and artists deserve to learn how to draw us.

Fascists want you to starve, by the way. Images like the one I’ve shared on my page help them. This is part of the propaganda.

And that set is no exception.
How far right uses thinness to radicalise women and girls
The far right has normalised much of its ideology within mainstream politics – and ‘body fascism’ is part of that

*diet culture doesn’t just mean “being on a diet” for whatever personal reason. please don’t misread this anyone. diet culture is the societal idea that everyone should be striving for “physical perfection” at all times. it’s that thing where nearly *everyone* is on a diet or told they should be.

i am kinda glad that i preemptively wrote the sign to be able to tap it, but i shouldn’t have needed to do that either

i can’t believe i already had to tap the sign on that one tbh.

i see where she was going, but that still only works if one wants to treat fat people as a special type of life for advanced classes only, or if fat people represent a normal form that exists & therefore it would be a core art skill to learn where fat bands go just as much as muscles, for instance.
