Again: all of this is elite radicalisation and none of it is organically arising from the public. It is MPs and the press flame-grilling their own brains on social media, then inflicting their poisonous spiteful idiocy upon everyone.

And ... the economic contribution is not the only contribution migrants make to British society.

And... we shouldn't only value people based on their contribution and see them as numbers which was what was so galling about the Home Secretary's recent proposals.

People have value as people.

Anyway, after scouring the website, I found the details of the academic and as anticipated he is doing excellent work on the economic contribution of migrants to the UK, which in my constituency is extra strong due to a certain ancient institution (and the number of NHS workers).

As an "immigration geek" he somehow doesn't know his own government's policy (his role means he should) and came out in full support of the recent announcement (on the old place obviously as that is, tellingly, his sns of choice).

This is based on my MP claiming to be an immigration geek, pointing out that UK citizens returning to the UK is immigration as per net migration figures and then claiming reducing net migration is both desirable and achievable and saying questionable things about one particular nationality.
