An update: I got a LOT of helpful feedback on my last sketch, so I was able to make a number of refinements to the figure. This is probably about as good as I'm going to get it.

Once I get the hair and face in place and make some adjustments to the ribbon-like fabric, the sketch should be done!

I think I can manage this much. 🥷

Not gonna lie, this part made me do a double take. 😂

New sketch WIP! I'm redrawing a pose that's central to an idea I had last year to reimagine a scene for a certain favorite anime character of mine.

Constructive feedback/ideas are appreciated. I think I want to make the figure a bit fuller, and I'm not sure about the head/neck/shoulder connection.

I finally got around to working on this piece again tonight. I didn't want to do anything too complex, but it was fun rendering skin again, so I didn't mind spending a bit more time on it.

Maybe if I do more of these, I can experiment with different painting techniques or something. 😛

I'm feeling a bit - dare I say, bold - so I'm going to see how this goes.

Some of these are bound to be easy guesses, but I might sneak in a surprise or two if this post gets significant enough attention.

The internet at home goes off for a day, and I'm motivated to draw again. Go figure (pun intended)!

This is a study of a pose reference I've wanted to draw since first seeing it. It's actually my second attempt at this pose, as CSP crashed and completely wiped out my progress from a night ago.

I got another character to Master rank - in V-rival at least!

I still have plenty to learn and incorporate into my Chun-Li play, but I she's starting to click for me in this game in terms of at least the basics, and that's always a good feeling to have.

Just need to work in the harder stuff now.

With a 1-star advantage, I'm fighting SiRN Akuma at about a 50-50 rate, give or take a win streak during certain stretches. It's kinda funny how wildly the proverbial pendulum swings in that regard.

Avatar battles against SiRN Akuma, on the other hand...

Playing Giant Attack in SF6 for the first time has meant dealing with Shin... I mean SiRN Akuma. There has been quite a bit of nonsense, but I've also had my moments - and it's an enjoyable challenge overall.

I feel like this clip is a great encapsulation of the experience so far.

I'm going to post this pose breakdown before I convince myself otherwise.

This is my current method of drawing a pose from reference; I start by tracing over the original reference pose and redraw it as best I can. I then adjust the figure to my liking from here.

And here's a bonus clip. Nothing too special with this one, although I found the ending of the match to be enjoyable and fitting appropriate for a wrestler like Tina!
November 18, 2025 at 12:04 AM
I'm hoping this specific clip can win the @sickcombos.bsky.social stamp of approval. I'm no Tina main, but I know a few things, and I never need a huge excuse to play #DOA5LR.

(Pardon the footage lagging the audio a bit; blame the PS4's clip-making function, not me. 😛)

Since I'm starting to see posts relating to it on my feed, here are my long-held and continuing thoughts about the Geoff Keighley Showcase, otherwise known as *ahem* "The Game Awards."

I was yesterday years old when I learned the input trick that allows Chun-Li to do her Lightning Kicks immediately after jumping.

Another #streetfighter6 mystery unraveled! Now to work on the timing to punish throw loops with this...!
November 2, 2025 at 8:04 PM
This combo trial took me two months to do, but I finally pulled it off yesterday. (I mean... it's more like I tried it a couple months ago, got tired, and focused on learning other things, but still...)

Drive rush combos with Chun-Li's stance moves certainly test the ol' fingers/muscle memory...

Aaaanyways, one final clip. Some wins are just sweeter than others, and perfecting a LVL8 Ryu is definitely a highlight in my brief SF6 journey.

It was a great thing I played KOF 98 to learn Mai before getting this game; the knowledge I gained of her from that title has translated very well to SF6!
October 18, 2025 at 11:27 PM
And I've improved despite dealing with this:

I'm simply moving left and right in this clip, but my analog stick registers random up inputs (usually 1-3 frames long) as I move it.

It's not always THIS bad, but plenty of bad jumps and missed special/super inputs have happened from this malfunction.

I actually had the intention to start this thread with another fight, but despite repeated efforts, I couldn't compress the video enough to fit Bluesky's file size limit. 🙃 Even so, I'm sharing a shorter clip of me going against the game's infamous LVL 8 CPUs.

I think I've gotten a bit better!
October 18, 2025 at 11:27 PM
🧵

Even though I can't play SF6 online, the Battle Hub's V-Rival system is still accessible.

It's interesting - the CPU typically doesn't fight with the insane precision and ability to optimize EVERY opportunity like LVL8 CPUs, but the variance in play styles and tactics keeps fights engaging.

Wanna see something scary? Then have a gander at this rough figure sketch by yours truly!

Yes, I'm FINALLY back at the tablet, and I have something fun in mind with this drawing. If I can pull it off, it'll be quite the trick - and the treat!

*Constructive feedback welcome*

I decided to play and beat Final Fight for the first time last week thanks to Street Fighter 6. It's certainly not my favorite beat-em-up ever, but it's a good enough game for the era it was created in.

It was also cool to finally play the game that debuted several iconic Capcom characters.
October 12, 2025 at 7:32 PM
I doubt that this will get much engagement, BUT if anyone has something they'd like to ask, fire away!

(Btw, feel free to ask me a question any other time, too. As long as it isn't too personal or offensive, I typically don't mind responding to any comment that comes my way.)

And here's the "meaty" set-up by itself. It's a pretty straightforward set-up if you understand the concept at all, but if you don't, I'll leave a longer description in the alt text.

I'm still having fun learning things in this game!

(As a side note, I WISH I could learn art this easily!)
October 4, 2025 at 4:45 PM
Pretty sure that until a few months ago, I had never even heard of the term "meaty" in a fighting game context before in my 30+ years of living.

And now I find myself learning meaty set-ups and combos based off of them... You're never too old, folks!
