You broke her heart. She let you in, believing your interest was genuine, but you treated her as a placeholder. You lied, you cheated, you gaslighted - things your exes did that broke you, but you thought it was OK to do those things to someone else, someone you professed to love.

Gotta remember this. Narcissists who lie, cheat, and gaslight will spin stories that sound reasonable on the surface in order to cover up their lying, cheating, and gaslighting. Then you find out it was all lies, and they lie some more to make what they did OK in their damaged little heads.
Shitty people with shitty beliefs tell you shitty stories to justify their shitty actions.

The excuses I got:
I hoped my feelings would change (yeah, bullcrap)
I never broke up with anyone before (coward!)
I just figured it out just now (after lying and cheating for months?)
We were just friends (yeah, for the first 10 seconds)
Don't cheat in a relationship. If you are not happy, then just leave.

Cheating isn't always flirting, touching or kissing. If you're having text or chat conversations you wouldn't want your partner to see because they'd misunderstand, you are cheating.
