Genuinely funny how the mystery of the first book is undercut by the party politics and incompetence of the Southern Reach itself in the sequel. Incompetence maybe isn’t the right word but it does evoke a certain administration in its insistence upon and failure to maintain control

I’m even more terrified of a story where she and Eve Polastri grow old together 😩

Obviously it’s a collaborative effort and the artist is usually fantastic on their own merit, just funny to be like “damn what a banger” and more than once check the credits and be like “oh hello again”
