BREAKING: A Ninth Circuit judge has sua sponte — on their own — already called for a vote on whether there should be an en banc rehearing (which means all active judges will vote on whether the matter should be reheard). Briefing is called for on that question, due by mid-week.

Transit solutions aren’t viable in low density places because we’ve socialized away a huge cost (roads) while still demanding that transit operate funded by fares. Eisenhower, Kennedy, and Edens Expressways were opened in the decade prior to that rail shutting down.

Right, this is what the actual issue is. It's not the density.

And I think urbanists who are stuck on making density arguments don't realize they are making the problem worse by starting from a self-defeating place
