Grey foxes are stunningly beautiful and a treat to encounter in the wild.
Or on the back porch.

My neighbor came over and helped me put up this badass feeder pole. It’s from Brome, a Canadian company (Quebec). Called the “Guardian Raccoon Buster”, it’s designed to keep raccoons and squirrels out of the feeders.

Screenshot of ERCOT capacity and predicted demand as of 1250am today. Purple lines on top are capacity; turquoise lines below are demand levels. Let’s hope the electric toaster heaters don’t make it all go dark because OMG what if a data center went down?

I bought this book at Texas Book Festival. Translated from Sierra Zapotec.
Author is Pergentino Jose Ruiz.
Haunting magical realism, set among highlands of Oaxaca.

Cat distribution system at work. This tuxedo cat fell through the dropped ceiling at a friend’s business. His name is Mochi. He’s now the shop cat. They already have a shop dog: a 5 lb chihuahua rescued from the street in front of the building.

It’s not enough that we have a batshit crazy pedofuhrer on the loose, and wannabe dictators in Texas government.
We’ve got cedar pollen that’s trying to incapacitate us.

A fox is supposed to be a good thing. Foxes are spirit animals in the Native American world.
I have a gray fox that visits regularly. It’s beautiful. Sleek, stealthy, graceful. Video below.
There’s a den in neighbor’s yard; the kits came to visit for water.
