In today's lecture, we talked about persuasion in journalism, and the examples about the coverage of tariffs made me think deeper about the news I am reading. If more people were able to recognize journalism as having elements of persuasion, would it change how people feel about articles? #J201 #312

I thought it was interesting how the readings emphasized the political biases of media. Is it possible to change a source's bias, or remove it? #UWJ201 #312

When reading the "Public knowledge and experiences with data drive ads" article by the Pew Research Center, I found myself wondering about what the reasons behind 59% of adults not knowing what data is being used by companies, since that seems like a high number? #UWJ201 #312

Watching some of the media fails in class today made me realize how frequent this is, which was really surprising. It made me wonder, do companies consult with the subjects of their controversial ads before airing them, and could this explain why some repeatedly have issues (ex Pepsi)? #UWJ201 #312

In class today, we watched a variety of different Super Bowl ads. A decent amount of them were about social issues, and ad slots are very expensive. This made me wonder if it would be a better use of that money to donate to things that support these movements, instead of on media? #UWJ201 #312

I thought today's lecture that featured different political ads was super interesting, and it made me wonder; Did political ads before the inception of the internet and TV/radio contain the same fear-mongering and negative stories about competitors as they do in this modern ad era? #UWJ201 #312

I thought it was interesting how, in the reading, "roughly 12% of Wisconsin voters split their ticket in their votes for the US Senate," and this can be connected to media they consumed about the candidates. Could it be possible to moderate some of the extreme individuals using media? #UWJ201 #312

After Prof. Wagner's lecture today, I was left wondering about how the "two faces' are represented in popular media sources and popular figures. Is it possible for political candidates and other public figures to maintain their success without drawing from both the "two faces"? #UWJ201 #312
