The fucken balls on these MFs. I live in AB surrounded by assholes feeling like they have been personally slighted as this Anti-Canada rhetoric continually comes from these grifters…

This is lvl99 audacity man…

You can keep lowering your expectations. I’ll keep fighting to raise mine.
skipischris.bsky.social
I was born here. Raised here. I’m raising a family here. I talk to my neighbours, my family, and my reps — because this is my home.

What I “expect” is for people to stop shrugging off decay like it’s just Alberta being Alberta. That lazy fatalism is how bad governments stay in power.
skipischris.bsky.social
The thing is, teachers are demanding better. Parents are too. Plenty of Albertans are wide awake to what’s happening — they just get drowned out by the noise.

We can’t write off an entire province because a loud minority keeps voting against its own kids’ future.
skipischris.bsky.social
Yeah, I get that a lot — and sure, Alberta’s political landscape isn’t exactly subtle. But “what did you expect?” has become the province’s favorite excuse for not demanding better.
skipischris.bsky.social
I firmly stand with Alberta Teachers.

She’ll smile for the cameras and she’ll smirk on her taxpayer-funded talk radio program while schools crumble.
skipischris.bsky.social
And here’s the hard truth: there’s still time for the Alberta Government to do the right thing. But we all know “Dear Leader” doesn’t care about Alberta teachers. She doesn’t care about Alberta students. Public education isn’t on her priority list—it’s a target.
skipischris.bsky.social
I’m proud of Albertans who are showing support and solidarity in the face of all this. You are proof that truth still cuts through the noise, and that courage isn’t in short supply—at least not outside the Legislature.
skipischris.bsky.social
And let’s be clear: the courage teachers are showing right now is the kind of leadership Danielle Smith will never understand, because leadership isn’t about spin—it’s about sacrifice.
skipischris.bsky.social
This is about dignity. About classrooms that work. About kids who deserve better than a bargain-bin education.
skipischris.bsky.social
What I do care about is this: my wife (a teacher), and every member of the @albertateachers.bsky.social. I am fiercely proud of them. It takes guts to walk away from a paycheque. That alone proves this fight is not about money, no matter what the govt’s propaganda machine tries to tell you.
skipischris.bsky.social
Try explaining to your kids why their teachers are drowning in oversized classrooms, why resources vanish year after year, why the Premier treats their education like an afterthought. It’s not easy. But it’s obvious: this government knows what it’s doing. They just don’t care.
skipischris.bsky.social
They’ve gutted classrooms while patting themselves on the back, treated teachers like disposable parts, and then had the gall to spend public money smearing the very people holding the system together.
skipischris.bsky.social
I’m angry. And I’m disappointed. As a parent. As an Albertan. This government has made it crystal clear that our kids’ education is not a priority.

It’s long. Too long for a mega-thread.
It’ll probably get me in trouble. (Add that to the list.)
So I’ll be parking essays on Substack and dropping the links here.
Keep it real. Subscribe if you want receipts. Or don’t. I’ll still be here.

I’ve been busy.
The new project? They Came in Like a Wrecking Ball… Again.
Yes, Danielle Smith gave me more material. No, I’m not thanking her.
I’m about halfway through. Be patient. Or don’t. I’ll keep writing anyway.
skipischris.bsky.social
Bluesky break’s over. Bad news for your feeds.
Good news: I built a Substack.
This is the part where you click, subscribe, and pretend it was your idea. substack.com/@exhaustport

Here's my mega-thread already published: substack.com/@exhaustport...

Well worth digging into--all the way down to Part 1--if you want a comprehensive, easy-to-understand rundown of what exactly Premier Smith's government has done to erode and dismantle social protections and democracy in Alberta. Thank you, @skipischris.bsky.social ✌️❤️

Someone should gently remind her this isn’t a Corus call-in show anymore. She’s the Premier now. You can’t just say things and hope no one checks the math. #ableg

“I think it’s because it doesn’t work particularly well, if you want the truth,” Smith said.”

In addition to being Metis, Cherokee, public health expert, oncologist and more, Danielle Smith also moonlights as a virologist and immunologist.

Can someone just check that Minister LaGrange understands her mandate is “Preventative” not “Preventing” Health Services?

In all seriousness, these are backwards decisions all but guaranteed to not only hurt people, but cost us far more than they “save” in healthcare. #ableg
