I keep hearing that we need to win the "AI race" and I wonder why nobody is asking why? Have you ever started a race without knowing where the finish line is? Would it be worth winning if it ended in a pit of lava?

We always blame the echo chamber quality of social media on division and post reality aspects of politics but I wonder how much is caused by the media outlets that have the budgets to do actual journalism putting all their important findings behind paywalls?

Just to keep score; hes promised farmers a bailout,poor people 2000$,and rich people an end to income tax all to be paid for by a few hundred billion in tarrifs. His people know the SC has to block them if they follow the constitution so hes creating support to ignore them.

I see the the "no tax on tips" thing is quietly morphing into what I originally thought it was actually about...IRS now says that lawyers,drs,brokers,etc can call their fees tips and pay no taxes

Pretty obvious that he's promising 2k checks so that if the Supreme Court rules against his tariff power(which they should) a large chunk of the country will back his ignoring of court orders. The only real reason for the tarrifs is so he can shake down countries for his own personal enrichment

I dont understand this guy's lineups at all. Why buy a striker if you're not going to play him? Why start two fairly slow CBs and not play Yoro? Why play Dalot on the left when you have Dorgu and Shaw?

It bothers me that every breathless report about increasing facism and tyranny here in the states never points out that each subsequent overturning of law and precedent makes future elections less likely. You dont try to make negative coverage illegal and then hand that power over

I think Tim Howard has been pretty good as a post match pundit but it sounds like hes suffering from the American commentators' dysfunction of using three times as many words as necessary and 100 percent more clichés than needed. Its very distracting. Its not the nfl, there's no need for it.

Making a government "bias monitor" part of the Paramount merger seems like something dark that should be getting much more coverage.
Is there even one valid reason for the DOJ to meet with Maxwell at this point right before possible testimony before congress? It seems transparent that they'll offer a pardon to clear rump,then not give it (because it'd basically be admitting to it), and then she'll mysteriously die in prison.
