I’ll definitely read, but the summary at least implies that issue of mistreatment of digital partners *mirrors* behavior in other spheres. So again, good personhood is good.

I don’t think it’s punching down on lonely people to say that making sex robots is cynical exploitation of a tech for profit.

That aside, your capacity to speak about how all transphobes manifest transphobia is amazing! Thanks for making things clear. You'd better get cracking correcting the statements of: Wikipedia; GLAAD; the National Center for Transgender Equality; and the Associated Press.

The point that people are making is that your anecdotal description of problematic porn use/"abuse" is 1) directly addressed in the article linked above, and 2) *anecdotal* as opposed to based in clinical studies, science, or data.

Porn can be a problem. Addiction to porn is not a thing.
From the Psychology Today article being discussed in-thread: It is noteworthy that in this research, and in the numerous commentaries in response, no one is defending the porn-addiction model. None of the researchers looking at data on porn-related problems have chosen to argue that an addiction model or treatment strategy is appropriate. To be sure, some researchers still defend a compulsive model, or suggest that pornography itself is too broad a concept to be neatly captured by a single theory. The editors of the Archives of Sexual Behavior invited commentaries on this article only from researchers, who must argue based on science, as opposed to anecdote. None of them argue that porn is addictive, that it changes the brain or one's sexuality, or that the use of porn leads to tolerance, withdrawal, or other addiction-related syndromes. Put simply, while the nuance of porn-related problems is still being sussed out, the idea that porn can be called addictive is done, at least in the halls of sexual science. Clinically, what these findings mean is that instead of assessing porn use in people who seek help for porn-related issues, clinicians and therapists should be assessing a person’s moral attitudes toward porn, as well as their level of religiosity. In therapy, instead of trying to change people’s porn use patterns, we should instead be focused on helping them make their values and behaviors congruent, and learning to understand and recognize the impact of their moral beliefs. This conflict between morality and sexual behaviors may be resolved by changing one’s sexual behaviors or by changing one’s values or simply by helping people become conscious and mindful of this internal conflict.

Hello, I’m an editor with the live page team. My colleagues at the CBC Decision Desk are watching 11 ridings in particular before making a call on a majority or minority government. They are all ridings where the Liberals are currently in second place. Last night, they went from 163 projected seats to 168 as advance and special ballots were counted, in some cases making up several hundred or even 1,000-vote deficits — so these could flip. The Liberals need four of the following 11 ridings to do that. Terrebonne in Quebec: It is the closest race in the country right now, where the Bloc is leading the Liberals by 28 votes. Two polls are left to report, which could be 880 votes. Nunavut: There is a 54-vote margin with at least 647 votes to come. Vancouver Kingsway: The NDP's Don Davies is leading the Liberals by 308 votes. Windsor-Tecumseh-Lakeshore (Ontario): The Liberals are trailing by 359 votes and we are expecting at least 3,500 special ballots there. Miramichi Grand Lake (New Brunswick): There is a 394-vote margin here. One of the two special ballot polls has reported, where at least 2,700 special ballots were cast. Milton East Halton Hills South (Ontario): Former Ontario Progressive Conservative cabinet minister Parm Gill is leading the Liberal candidate by 556 votes. Again, one of the two special ballot polls reported and at least 2,800 special ballots were cast. Shefford (Quebec): Here, there is a 651-vote margin for the Bloc.
