A quick diversion to tweak the team's costumes, adding pouch access to Tara/Rebound's, & the Glensfour logo to all of them. Details matter people. 😋

Now to *finally* debut these slick fits in story.

280 words in, & the substantial new thing is under way. Just to underline how on fire my muse seems to be, right now, it cooked up a means of kicking it off via an image that I think is pretty startling. If you know the story, this is also a rather big clue as to where this is going...

After 2500 words of tight focus, now allowing myself to wax a little lyrical. Even the prose is taking the chance to breathe out.

It was mostly sand, warm with a hint of red, soft, rippling, half a dozen small, smooth rocks scattered about. A streak of shimmering orange traced over wind-tousled waves to where the reddening sun hung low. Azure set down in the middle of it, releasing Kay and Ally. “Well?” The squirrel undressed, piled her clothing on a stone, then stood with legs apart and arms straight out to her sides. As the breeze rustled her fur, she let out a long, contented sigh, and smiled widely. “Perfect.” Once she’d discarded her clothes, the skunk padded to the tideline, to crouch there, the gentle surf sighing round her ankles. “It’s beautiful.”

Just to prove how low on brain power Spike is, he managed to get himself into this little predicament, today. Took a while to get him back out of it.

No harm done, thankfully, except possibly to his pride.

At my brother's, but for several days have had no internet. Hoping to finally sort it out tomorrow. Managing to work on Hero, at least, & developing a deeper appreciation for the Carry On films. Posting this on my phone. Have some #caturday pics of my current feline company in the meantime.

The large planter is over Tigger's grave. The flowers 1st bloomed in the summer, & haven't stopped since.

The smaller planter is 1 of the spots I sowed flower seeds. The 1st appeared in early autumn, & again, they've not stopped blooming since.

And that's despite increasingly bad weather.

It is done! As yet unsure which variant feels more like me, just really like them both.

Be interested to see what you all think.

Feels necessary to reiterate: base by Zhivago, I just slapped the colours on.

If I understand correctly, should be OK to make a PFP & banner from these, so that's next.
The refsheet for the feminine version of my fursona, now with the back view completed. Same rust red, darker red & pale cream colour scheme, with a darker patch covering much of the back of the head, thinning down the back of the neck, widening across the shoulder blades, & tapering almost to a point just above the tail, & a narrow pale cream patch on the rear.

Now working on the feminine version. Got the front done.

Adjusting for the differences is an interesting process.
A feminine version of the fursona refsheet in the quoted post, a rust red anthro fox with darker fur below elbows & knees & on the backs of the ears & the top of the tail, pale cream on chest & belly & inner ears & pawpads & the tip of the tail, dark grey nose & claws, blue eyes & glasses. The rear view is still to be filled in.

Got the pink in, a pretty subtle detail, but I really like it that way.

Need to work up a feminine version of this, & let it sit a while, but it's looking more & more like, well...

The fursona refsheet, now with subtle lines of rouge pink running from the base of the neck, down the sides of the chest & belly, between the rust red & the cream, to just level with the navel.

Tail done, & popped some glasses a lot like the ones I frequently wear on the snout.

Starting to have slightly tingly feelings about this. Is that a good sign?

Still need to decide how to work in the pink, though...
The red fox refsheet, now with both sides of the tail detailed, mostly rust red, with a pale cream tip, & a broad sweep of darker along much of the top. Rounded rectangular glasses now rest on the muzzle of the fursona.

The back done. Really liking it, so far. GIMP's Free Select Tool is in serious danger of becoming my new best friend.

Given I've been "in" the fandom for roughly a quarter of a century, & alive for very nearly double that, I probably should grey the muzzle a bit, but eh, can't be bothered. 😜
The fursona sheet from the 1st post, now with the back view of the character coloured in. Same scheme, except for a patch of darker fur covering much of the back of the head, thinning down the neck, widening across the shoulder blades, then steadily tapering again, almost to a point just above the tail, & a sliver of pale cream over the seam of the rear.

Decided, entirely on a whim, to experiment with the idea of a fursona, so got myself a template - by Zhivago - & starting playing. May or may not come to anything concrete, not least as I need to figure out how to work some pink in, but I'm having fun colouring, like the big cub I am, regardless.
A reference sheet for a masculine fox furry, front, rear, top & bottom of tail, & eyes. Only the front is coloured in, russet red darkening below elbows & knees & on the backs of the ears, pale cream on chest & belly & muzzle & pads & inner ears, dark grey on nose & claws, blue eyes.

Lakeside Amusement Park. Can't help feeling we've been here before...

Ol' Robbie, here, is a prime example of what I meant above. Grotesque, but not outright gruesome, leaving plenty to the imagination, & imho, all the more effective for it.

This. This is why I love this game. So many weird, freaky, inexplicable little details to make your head itch & your skin crawl. So much better than gore.

In my restless dreams, I see that town.

Surreal to be back after so long. Gonna take a while to reacclimatise to the tank controls, & yes the HD version has flaws, but that's not gonna stop me savouring an atmosphere like no other, & drawing all the inspiration for Otherland I possibly can.

Tweaked Ally's, replacing the double-S with a swooping decal, & since I was already pretty satisfied with Tara/Rebound's suit, just added more texture & swapped the R for a tidy little rebound-like V decal.

Coming together, I think! Though don't discount more fettling/refining.

Latest Zephyr version. A lot happier with this.

The mix of simple, clean, almost Golden Age graphic design, & more contemporary flow, really works for me.

Old Zephyr versus new Zephyr.

Liking the almost tie-dye effect, not sold on the Z logo. Will let this bubble awhile. Certainly better than the flat running gear look of old.
