ok yup i'm done here and never coming back to this site. even after being misgendered (and reporting it, which did absolutely nothing) this fucking asshole comes back and harasses me more. clearly no one at bluesky cares

the same man from my quotes came to my post and started yelling at me again (even though i did not mention him). he wrote:

i NEVER initiated a conversation with this man. instead, the entirety of our interactions have been him coming into my mentions to harass me (hilariously, insisting *i* am making him reply to me!) and refusing to leave me alone when i told him to fuck off

molly posted: "This dude is charging people for posting exhausting comments and yet he’s posted about 50 exhausting comments in my me mentions and so he owes like a mortgage payment to the PCRF I think" and quoted matt kent (he has since removed the quote)

i replied: "he seems insufferable wow"

matt kent replied: "Make sure to upload a receipt and tag me, so I can match your donation. Thanks in advance!" and quoted his earlier post saying
"I am imposing a mandatory $15 donation to the Palestinian Children’s Fund before writing an exhausting comment."

in response to the other screenshot, i said:
"hey asshole i responded to molly not you. you weren't invited to this conversation. fuck off"

to which he said: "You know where the block button is."

in response to the first screenshot, i said: "oh and now you're misgendering me? you're a real piece of shit. i hope you have the day you deserve"

he replied: "All you had to was stop tagging me in posts and you wouldn’t have to see or hear from me.

unfortunately, the person who did this is a woman. and yes you read that last post right, she literally thinks that it's "controlling" someone to tell them to text you later because now is not a good time. instead what's "healthy" behavior is blocking the number of the person texting you 😐

i wrote: "but like i wrote above, i am not remotely willing to engage in a graphic and explicit discussion of self harm in OP's mentions. i don't want to put such triggering material in someone's notifications without them making it clear they're ok discussing it. so i am going to end the conversation here"

also, it's hard to find great data but around the time bleak house was written (1952-3), only 70% of british men were literate, and only 55% of the women. not everyone could read this

Still, the closet is obviously not a part of gay history to long for, to feel nostalgic about or to sentimentalize. So why the current obsession with one of the bleakest aspects — and a not-very-distant one — of the gay cultural landscape? It’s probably not an accident that it’s happening when it’s happening. Today gay men live in a world in which our struggles, our issues and our challenges are no longer seen as central to the L.G.B.T.Q. rights movement. A look at the headlines on almost any given day is a reminder that the fight right now, and very likely for some time to come, is for trans rights and acceptance. And gayness itself is no longer the identity that is most central to the movement, as it was through the liberation years and the first decade-plus of AIDS. A February Gallup poll showed that “bisexual” is now the most frequently claimed label among L.G.B.T.Q. Americans, with 5.2 percent of people opting for it; only 3.4 percent of people call themselves either gay or lesbian. For many younger queer people, coming out versus staying closeted is an antiquated choice, a form of pigeonholing with little resonance in a 21st century that’s more defined by a long drop-down menu of identity options, including “prefer not to say,” a choice that, for some of them, has none of the political weight that it might have carried right after Stonewall, or in the middle of the fight against the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policies that were adopted by the American military in the 1990s. To evoke 1974 or 1985 or 1997 onscreen is, for a couple of hours, to allow older gay men to forget our contemporary diminishment and the minimization of our history — to return to a world in which we were at the heart of queer culture and discourse. There is, undeniably, drama in oppression and romance in fighting it. We were the cause then. Now, not so much.

i used to assume that people who sold out for money were at least getting paid well for abandoning their morals. turns out that doing evil doesn't even lead to that much profit anymore. i guess too many people were eager to sign up

you have no clue what you're talking about. the US government funds a huge amount of drug research (well, it used to). and the US isn't even the biggest drug exporter. it mainly consumes a lot of drugs because our population is very high and our people are unhealthy. germany has 1/4 our pop

The top exporter of pharmaceuticals was Germany, which exported $115 billion, significantly more than the $76.6 billion it imported. Similarly, Switzerland exported $90.2 billion and imported only $40.2 billion, and Belgium exported $71.1 billion and imported $44 billion. The only country in the top five of exports that doesn’t follow this pattern is the United States, which exported $81.6 billion but imported $145 billion. In fact, the United States was the number one country for pharmaceutical imports, importing 18% of the global market share.

The state asked for a 9.5-year sentence, and the judge ended up giving Horcasitas 10.5 years for manslaughter, after being so moved by the powerful video, family says. The judge even referred to the video in his closing sentencing statements.

but this part was my favorite: "trivial differences such as ... whether the artist is 'making a point.'"

Though less popular, Tolstoy’s views on nudity in art are more well-founded than his opponents’. Though nude art may not be as objectifying as modern pornography, the differences between the two are still often overstated and depend on trivial differences such as whether the depicted nude is looking directly at the viewer or whether the artist is “making a point.”
