Cracked heat exchanger in our furnace. At least it waited until temps were in the 20s-30s/teens-20s vs. last week's sub-zero nights. Waiting to hear on parts availability and cost estimate. Gas F.P. and portable electric heater plus separate furnace for upstairs keeping us safe in the meantime.

Watching Jimmy Carter's State funeral this morning I can't help thinking he chose to go now so that this event, his life and peaceful, love-centered accomplishments, and these eulogies would precede the next administration's taking power and maybe, just maybe, make an impression.
