Profile of Sliced Bread Inc™ (The inventors of Sliced Bread).
Tomorrow we will announce The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread™.
We promise there won't be any delays.
Interestingly my kerfuffle with mixing up Chain and Steel when relaying information about the Chain Gunslinger and Hanger, meant that we ended up contacting a group called the Steel Birds from the Cheese Leaf.
A bunch of large mechanical chickens who while incredibly strong are also very nice.

Yet I keep looking at it (and the lack of any liquid currently loaded in it) and have absolutely no idea.
Does it poison whoever is shot by it?
Grant super strength?
Heal thy wounds?
Make one able to type with boxing gloves on?
┐(´ー`)┌
All I know currently is that it's magical and shiny.

The reason for this bread based resurrection... honestly he won't tell us. Just that a baker (@10minutebread.bsky.social) brought him back, and we shouldn't worry about it until this whole kraken business is sorted first.
...
In other news, Meg is right. The infirmary's food does sucks.

Thomas Peter Sr!!!!! But how?

"Took you long enough, dweeb," a familiar voice spoke. I turned to see a bandage up Meg smiling at me. "For a second I thought you'd never return to us."
I smiled back at her, even though it pained me to see her in that state.
Then, she noticed something, "What's with that syringe gun?"

At first I felt the cold embrace of the water around me. But slowly my surroundings got warmer, and the wet feeling around me turned to a smooth wool.
When I opened my eyes, I saw a clinically clean room illuminated by a bright fluorescent light. I was finally awake again, back in the office.

He told me that I couldn't fully understand what I needed to do. Not because I wasn't smart enough, but because there would be too many things to go over.
But, all I needed to do was take a leap into the lake. And then the next step of my story shall begin. So, I closed my eyes and leapt.

The Chain Hanger said to me, "My counterpart, ROF had told me of your woes. Probably as an attempt to torment my dangling soul. Or, he knew I would want to help you. There's no telling with that puppet on what his goals and motives are. Still, I know how I can help you."

The Chain Hanger revealed he knew everything about my own struggles, and that he knew of a way to defeat the kraken.
He told me to make my final goodbye with Sock and the other, then come back here tomorrow and finally wake up.

"I will one day hang with a smile. Yeah, I did have a big smile on my face."
"Why though, kid? You had a full life ahead of you."
"The research, I need to protect it. But that's not important right now. I called out to my counterpart for another reason than that."

A worn out voice came from within the chains, "Ha. Finally spotted me, professor."
Eyes glowing underneath the steel, proof that just like Sock and his counterparts, the Chain Hanger was dead, no longer able to go back to his own Leaf.
"Your deal with ROF, it came true?" Sock cried.

Despite every part of this person's body being hidden behind steel chains, I knew who this was. For he could only be my counterpart, The Chain Hanger!
Sock slithered his cotton body as fast as he could towards him, checking on his health.
"Kid! Kid! It can't be, are you?"

We couldn't believe what we saw above the lake, while also now understanding why I was given a vision of this place due to that one thing.
Hanging from a branch above, a figure completely covered in chains. Dangling like a dead body, with a box also buried in the chains around the chest.

Finally, Daisy hugged me and wept. Although, that hug was meant for my counterpart rather than me.
"I hope he stays safe."
Then, her body began to glow, and she disappeared from the Void. She awoke from her coma and got sent back to her Leaf.
...
Hopefully, it's not long until I also wake up.

Turns out, because of learning about my connection to him, Bartender was able to figure out the identity of the Chain Hanger.
"Went to university in the same town I from. Funny, how close the man, the kid, I wanted revenge on was. ... I'm glad he could turn his life around."

Then she told me about the night of the assassination. How, when she came back to her flat, seeing her partner's dead body, and a masked figure crying.
"That death, it was the last recorded one the Chain Hanger did. He disappeared after that. But, Bartender has told me where the kid went."
