Sen. Warren is right: This is a battle between billionaires and students. Demand that your elected officials fight for public education by opposing Trump’s attacks on the Department of Education.

Instead of stealing Greenland from Denmark, let’s steal some of their policies.

In Denmark:

- Health care and college are free.

- The starting wage is $22/hr.

- Paid parental leave is 1 year.

- Paid vacation is 6 weeks.

- All workers get pensions.

Libraries are vital, providing access to information, technology, and learning. Cutting IMLS funding threatens these services, especially in underserved areas. Library funding isn’t political—it’s an investment in education, opportunity, and civic engagement. #LibraryLove #ForOurLibraries ala.org

Trump’s trying to gut funding for libraries: you can fight back with ALA.

The President's executive order to dismantle the Institute of Museum & Library Services would be deeply harmful. We need to speak out.

Take action NOW: tell Congress to protect library funding.

This.
Any four Republican Senators could stop this at any time simply by threatening to block all action (or even caucus with the Democrats) if Trump doesn't make certain concessions. They won't, but that should be a much bigger story than whether the Democrats are doing everything that *they* can.

I can’t think of many things that are more important than the voices and stories of those that are different than yours.
WNDB is proud to join more than 50 organizations representing authors, publishers, booksellers, librarians, distributors, and more signed a joint letter expressing concern that the Trump Administration’s executive order from January 20th will lead to censorship of literature. 🧵

Good ways to get children to read:
1. Read aloud to them from babyhood onwards.
2. If it's too late for that, read when they're around.
3. Read a cool mix of stuff. Grab a graphic novel about your favourite historical or current topic. (There are lots of them around.)
