A number of people in Minneapolis right now have been in wrong place, wrong time situations through no fault of their own. For example, a six month old baby is in the hospital after getting flash banged.

“If not jungle gym, why jungle gym shaped?”

Yeah OK she’s got me there.

Right now I spend an inordinate amount of time parenting but my kid is turning one soon and we’re working on understanding that one shouldn’t touch the oven, even if it has a tantalizing handle that’s at just the right height to pull oneself up to a standing position and a reflective exterior.

I’m only sort of joking here, but I feel like when my daughter is older it should be fine for her to go to the park without me or my wife. Is this a choice people are making or are there consequences to letting your kids have more independence?

Disabled people have political opinions and participate in activism and advocacy. Having a disability and does not preclude either of those things.

AP has reported she was on the way to an appointment for a traumatic brain injury. I assume they did something to confirm it, since they’re usually pretty thorough.

Casting aspersions and speculating without research or reporting is poor practice for someone calling herself a journalist.

I was wrong. We need to RETVRN to when getting a weighted blanket involved getting a $300 custom product from some grandma in Idaho, whose promotional material exclusively depicted children. The drawbacks of being known to companies as a demographic is simply too great.

I don’t think the undertone of these pieces is that women being horny is empowering. I think the undertone is that women being horny is unusual and requires extensive analysis as a result.

A million think pieces because a bunch of straight women find a relatively tame fantasy hot is just bananas. It’s not that interesting and not that deep.

That is… Not my point.

My point is that it’s absurd to write ten thousand think pieces about a horny gay hockey romance. You don’t see nearly the same amount of ink spilled about anything straight men find erotic (unless it’s VERY VERY weird and/or if there’s a body count).
